Gran Turismo 5: weather system and web portal presented
Track editor, kart racing, racing career, manager mode, day-night cycle, 200 premium, 800 standard cars - "Gran Turismo 5" is bursting with game modes and details almost at the seams. But lead developer Kazunori Yamauchi and his team at Polyphony Digital is not enough. At the Tokyo Game Show 2010 exhibition games, the Japanese presented some new features like "Gran Turismo Anywhere" and a dynamic weather system.
With "Gran Turismo Anywhere" you control your manager's career - from the PC - the so-called B-Spec mode. Organize via the Internet portal and hold you race against the AI racers of your friends, look at statistics and photos or send messages.
Also featuring in "Gran Turismo 5" is the dynamic weather system. On selected routes there is the possibility that the weather conditions suddenly change during a race. The new photos in the gallery show how bright sunshine in the pouring rain transformed. A special treat for lovers Details offers Polyphony Digital in the cockpit perspective: In the high-end vehicles functioning windscreen wipers keep the windshield free of damaging water drops.
