It's time for another installment of PAL Virtual Console Releases. What is in store for you this week? Balloons, dead moons and a puzzle game called Lolo, L-O-L-O, Lolo.
Balloon Fight NES - 500 points
Originally a hit in the arcades in the early 80's, NES classic Balloon Fight puts you in control of a heroic balloonist. Simply, pop the balloons of your enemies before they pop yours. Falling enemies will deploy a parachute, so hit them again to knock them into the water below or into the jaws of a hungry fish. But watch out, the fish has its eyes on you too. Balloon Fight also features a two-player mode with coop and competitive play, plus a side-scrolling survival mode, Balloon Trip.
Dead Moon TurboGrafx-16 - 600 points
This side-scrolling shooter includes a total of 6 'scenes', spanning areas from the Earth to the Moon. The story begins with a comet discovered on a collision course with Earth. Mankind narrowly succeeds in diverting the comet's course, and it crashes into the Moon. However, investigations into the damage uncover that what hit the moon was not a comet, but a gigantic spaceship! Power-up your ship, destroy enemies and fight your way through the bosses in an attempt to reach the Moon's core to protect the Earth from alien invasion. Enjoy the unique world of Dead Moon, including various stages with beautiful backgrounds, a power-up system that increases your attack as well as your defense and boss battles that require you to alter your ship's direction to fight them (say what? I have to move my ship to fight?!).
Adventures of Lolo NES - 500 points
The Great Devil has threatened to destroy the peaceful country of Eden, so Princess Lala and Prince Lolo set off to seek help. But when Lala is kidnapped, Lolo must go it alone. As Lolo, use your intelligence and wits to brave the Great Devil's trap-laden castle and rescue Lala. Adventures of Lolo is a classic puzzle game featuring 50 IQ-taxing rooms, each more cunningly designed than the last. To advance through each room, you must collect all the Heart Framers to open the treasure chest and retrieve the jewel inside. But it's easier said than done... I seem to remember Dead Moon which was a decent release that year and Balloon Fight truly is a classic but honestly I don't remember Lola..er I mean Lolo.
