Well it is not Saturday but since it is the shopping season I thought it my duty to get the job done no matter what is happening outside of this place I call home. So I will make this post brief and informative and you will be better armed when you step into the stores, virtual or otherwise, this week.
Well, grab a bowl of cereal and lets get to it. Here's what's coming 1 December to 7 December 2007.

If you were not tuned into Spike TV last night, or like me, relied on your DVR to record the show for you, then you missed Spike TV's Game Head, this weeking featuring Spencer Halpin, Jack Thompson, Lorne Lanning, and N'Gai Croal all discussing the issue of violence in videogames. (It seems Spike decided to start the show a little early, and I only recorded half the show because of this.)
Luckily for us, GameTrailers.com always posts entire episodes of the show, but finding all the parts can sometimes be difficult. It seems they sometimes like to send you to other content before returning you to the next clip of your "regularly scheduled program."
So in the interest of saving time, you can watch the entire episode below.

This Saturday morning at 1 AM (EST), Spencer Halpin will appear on Spike TV's Game Head. Game Head is, according to their website, "A half-hour weekly program dedicated to everything that is happening in the world of video games."
The folks at Game Head, spoke with Spencer Halpin about his film, "Moral Kombat", a documentary highlighting the controversy over violent videogames and their effect on society.
You can read an review of the film here, and an interview I did a few months ago with Mr. Halpin.

It's no surprise that some game companies are posting record results of late. GameStop revenue was up 283%, Nintendo is one of the the highest valued companies in Japan and perhaps the world and now, Activision has boosted its expected revenue. The
company is raising its net revenue and earnings. Activision expects
record net revenues of $1.225 billion and earnings per diluted share of
$0.66 just for the third quarter of 2007. Meanwhile, for the full fiscal year 2008, Activision expects
record net revenues of $2.30 billion
That's a lot of games in a lot of homes and a lot of empty pockets. Didn't I hear something about games not being profitable and that companies HAD TO charge $60 or more for a game? Didn't someone try to tell us that recently? Only earlier this year, wasn't it? Well apparently the millions they're putting into game development is turning into billions for them. A nice safe venture it would seem.

If you think you can cheat and hide forever, then try to hide from X-Ray. TNWA (The New World Assembly) Group today announced it will be making
its pioneering X-ray Anti-Cheat software available for all gamers and

The client-side application, which cost over half-a-million pounds to develop, is already in full-time use on the UK’s biggest tournament gaming site, Enemydown. The

organiser anywhere in the world to ensure tournament integrity and
peace of mind for players.
