As many cartoons crossover to or from video games I thought it would be interesting to have a section highlighting the upcoming week's new releases from the major publishers. Of  course I had to call it Saturday Morning Cartoons!

So pour yourselves a bowl of Capt'n Crunch spread some jam on some toast and make a big glass of strawberry Nestle Quik, the show is about to start.

The souls of the dead have found their way onto the next plane of existence and life continues on. The children are (or will be this weekend) full of candy and millions of ghosts, pirates, ninjas and Spider-Men have hung up their costumes for yet another year.

 But things here at Generation: Gamerz are changing. As the Northern Hemisphere goes to sleep in preparation for winter we here are becoming more and more active. Starting next week with Video Game Ratings Awareness week.

You know a holiday can't go by without us talking about it. But this time one of the staff took it upon themselves to do something above and beyond the call of duty. TurboGoat had taken it upon himself to immortalize Generation: Gamerz in...PUMPKIN! Check out the Game O'Lantern! 

This past weekend, at the It Came From Lake Michigan Film Festival, I had the pleasure of awarding a plaque to Alison Richards, winner of the 2007 Generation: Gamerz Videogame to Film Contest.  Alison won the award for her treatment of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Its true, World of Warcraft has become so impactful on our culture that public radio has taken the time to report on the phenomena.  Public Radio was once termed by writer and regular public radio contributor Sarah Vowell as "Montessori for adults" for its occasional tendency to feed news to its listeners as though they were pieces of hot dog on a toddler's plate.  Recently, WoW has transcended the gamer world in such a way that it begs the question:  Is your life worth changing for WoW?
