Oh the pain and the agony I put myself through just for you. I thought Bloodrayne
was bad, but at least there was some nudity and action in that film.
This one was a total snore. Fortunately it wasn't as bad as House of the Dead 2 which made me extremely angry for watching it. No this one just quietly attempted to put me to sleep.

This is the third film I’ve reviewed this month, and it is easily the worst one of the three. That’s not to say it's a horrible movie, in fact, it does many things right.
First, the screenplay was written by Roger Avary , who helped pen parts of classic films like Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, and Pulp Fiction. Believe it or not, this screenplay does a reasonable job of following the story of the first Silent Hill game.

At my day job, I work with a gentleman who is very good at his job. He performs his daily tasks perfectly – sometimes even going above and beyond. As good as he is I know that he would not make a good manager. He is just not cut out to be the boss. I feel that the director of this film may have a similar problem.
If you read my previous review, you know that I really enjoyed Resident Evil , calling it “one of the better videogame movies made”. And although the script was penned by Paul W.S. Anderson, the gentleman who wrote and directed the first film, and even included Jill Valentine, one of the videogame series’ starring characters, this film falls short of the first.

Last year's DOA - Dead or Alive (this year in America) was thought Dead On Arrival
by many critics, but fans of the game and the fighting genre beg to
differ. Many sites I checked the reviewer game the film around 2.5
stars out of five while user averages were closer to 4 stars. The plot
is loosely based on the games. A martial arts tournament is held every
year where the best of each fighting style are invited to compete for a $10 million prize. The tournament is a knock-out style where the winner
of each match moves on to the next round. But along the way the combatants find out that something isn't what it seems and decide to band together to stop whatever it is that is going on. Of course if they didn't the film wouldn't have as much of a storyline.

I don't know if I'm the only one that was unaware, but Alien vs. Predator: Requiem arrives in theaters Christmas Day 2007. Regardless, I figured it was an appropriate subject considering the theme of the month. The movie is the sequel to 2004's AVP, with a bit of a different storyline.
SPOILER ALERT! Do not read any further if you do not want to know details about the plot!

Doom from 2005 starring Karl Urban, Rosemund Pike and
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is loosely based on the 1993 video game of
the same name. Basically the plot of the film is that in the year 2026
archaeologists working in the Nevada desert discovered
a portal to an ancient city on Mars. They call this portal the Ark.
Twenty years later, we're still struggling to understand why it was
built and what happened to the civilization that built it. Then the
problems begin and a group of marines are called in to start cleaning
things up.
