Linden Labs, the company that operates the on-line game Second Life, posted this on their website yesterday.
It seems Linden Labs discovered on September 6th that "an intruder was able to access the Second Life database through the web servers". Apparently, they did not release this information until 2 days later because the were investigating the extent of the "hack".
Account names, customer names, customer contact information, encrypted account passwords and encrypted payment information were all accessed. Linden Labs makes sure to point out:
"No unencrypted credit card information is stored on the database in question. Unencrypted credit card information has not been compromised."

Games Asylum dropped a few nice bits of info yesterday in this article. First off, Ubisoft's GT Pro Series, "will come with an attachment of some sort that will make it a 'must-have'. We're guessing a clip-on steering wheel."
Finally, that kid that plays games and tries to steer with the controller, will have a place in this world. Yes, the peripheral's existence its just a rumor, but we like to call it an educated guess. In addition, the game will sport more than 80 licensed vehicles.

EA, maker of such games as Madden, The Sims and Battlefield 2142, has signed an advertising deal to include updatable advertising in their games. Oddly enough the news didn't show up on their site, maybe they don't want to make big waves on it.
What's this mean for the Gamers? Well it means they'll be watching what your playing for one thing because the games will update the advertising based on what you are doing, using your network connection for your Xbox 360 or other online console.

In a quick interview last week with Reuters the Head of Operations for Nintendo Germany stated the console would be priced below 250 Euro ($320 USD / 7045 CZK at today's exchange). That's good news for the Euro Gamerz contingent where recent pricing of consoles by Microsoft and Sony have essentially put them out of reach of many of us. If true, it would make it the lowest priced of the next generation consoles here (see my previous 360 pricing article here.)
