Anyone who read "The Da Vinvi Code" and remembers the signifigance of Alexander Pope will appreciate the title of Microsoft's forthcoming exclusive, Alan Wake, "a psycholgical action thriller" (think Silent Hill) according to its developer, Remedy.
Here's the storyline: You are Alan Wake, a author of horror novels, the inspiration for which is your fiancée. (She gives you nightmares.)
Your fiancée disappears, as does your creativity, and both are replaced by insomnia. Seeking treatment, you travel to a clinic in Pride Falls, WA, and are cured.
While in Pride Falls, you meet your fiancée's twin, and begin sleeping with her. Seems to be a bad idea, because your nightmares return...as reality.
I remember sitting in my brother's living room watching him play the original Silent Hill game on his Playstation, and being terrified at the pixelated horror before me. I can't wait to be A. Wake.
