I remember it clearly - the first time I laid eyes on the behemoth machine. It's mere presence beckoned me from across the room like the wafting scent of fresh pastries from a bakery.
As I approached, my eyes caught site of the visual masterpiece displayed on its large screen. I had never seen anything like it! I apprehensively crept toward it. Could it be trusted? I had to find out.
Upon reaching the sleeping beast, I looked down. Fifty cents? Seemed steep, but this did not deter me. I dropped two quarters in and began my adventure...
That was 25 years ago. Hard to believe it was so long ago. I never did complete the quest, but I was so close...many, many times.
“I can’t believe it’s already been 25 years!” said Dragon’s Lair creator and legendary film animator Don Bluth. “To think a small project conceived by Rick Dyer would become such a beloved classic is something I couldn’t have foreseen. I don’t think Dirk and Daphne have aged a day!”
To celebrate, all next week Digital Leisure will be offering 25% off all games from its website. Also, all copies of the game on DVD, Blu-ray, or on HD. PC DVD copies will be personally signed by the original creators: Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, John Pomeroy and Rick Dyer.
