[News] [PC] [PS3] [X360]

So Vivendi stated that their big FPS time altering game TimeShift won't shift into stores until 2007. They mentioned the shift of release date is due to the game not being ready. Ok they didn't really say that exactly but I used my time shunting powers to travel into the near future and see what the real deal will be.

The background story of this game reads like the VHS slip cover of a B-rated Sci-Fi Flick. Retired test pilot loses daughter in tragic accident and decides to risk life for no apparent reason. Of course time travel mucks up his continuum and all hell breaks loose. From the sound of it when he returns the professor is hit by lightning. No wait, the cowboys have stolen the Delorean… heh that's not it either. Some big head named Krone (why do all the evil guys have names that begin with K?) has taken control of the world and all civil liberties have been erased. Or is that the real present in some large country in the world?

The game is said to feature time controls never seen before in any game. You mean like stop time, reverse time, slow time down? Nope, I've never seen those in any game in my life.

*Blinx, Blinx* Really?

We've never seen that before in a game? Well what about Blinx: The TimeSweeper for the X-Box?

Anyway, they also hype 30 missions in various environments, which we've never before seen in a game mind you. Maybe they should fire the copy writer for their web presence. Sure, and while they’re at it they can hire me to do it and to write some games for them.

Ok so I have to admit, the possibility of 16 person multi-player with time altering weapons does sound cool. It's about the only thing in the game features list that I can't laugh at right now.

The screenshots look amazing, but they do for all games now so that's nothing new. Unless they go back in time and sabotage everyone else's screenshots. But if they do that I won't remember I wrote this. Oh and gameplay videos? Not bloody likely mate! It's a coming soon section of the website. So shift restlessly in your seats, or shift your ass to the video store and stock up on all the Quantum Leap and Back to the Future that you can get. Because time will never be the same.
