Enigma Games' strategy game Warriors puts you in control of a team of four warriors who you pit against a range of other teams in tournament style play. Can you lead your team to victory? For what it is, which is a PC port of a mobile phone game, it's not a bad game overall. In a world of over-the-top games sometimes it is nice to kick back with a small quick game that loads in a matter of seconds. This is such a game although I would not exactly call it quick. As this game was originally developed for the mobile gaming market I have taken that into account when rating it.

Truth be told, I haven't had a comprehensive experience with a desktop simulator since I was in high school which was over 15 years ago. That all changed when CigDangle Santa Claus'd me Microsoft Flight Simulator X: The Deluxe Edition. As is stated in my bio on this website, for the most part I have been several steps behind most of the gaming trends. However, through my work as a professional pilot I have flown either "the real McCoy" or the multi-million dollar full-motion simulator version of some of the aircraft featured in MSFS X. This latest version of the game provides something for everyone: Painstaking authenticity for certified pilots, an effective first-step learning tool for would be pilots, and just the right level of fun for the gamer.

When Santa brought a Wii to our house, he brought with it two games: Trauma Center for my daughter (read review here), and Red Steel for my girlfriend. Well, apparently Santa had not been keeping up on his game industry reading, which is understandable for the old chap during his very busy holiday season. If he had, he would have read the abhorrent reviews Red Steel had been receiving, and would have opted for another game: Rayman: Raving Rabbids. Ultimately, this is just what my girlfriend did: returned Red Steel in exchange for Rayman.

I’m no Dr. Kildare, and I’m certainly not Gregory House, M.D., but I have become an expert surgeon. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but I certainly have developed a knack for Trauma Center: Second Opinion for the Nintendo Wii. Second Opinion is essentially a remake of Trauma Center: Under the Knife for the Nintendo DS, but stands as a decent game on its own.

This time out, I decided to review a game I had not seen reviewed anywhere - Cabela’s Alaskan Adventures for the Xbox 360. Since I’m not a hunter, I felt I was not entirely qualified to review the game on my own, so I went searching for a qualified collaborator. I found the perfect match: a hybrid real-world hunter and video game enthusiast – my brother-in-law.
We sat down and played this game together for hours, and really tried to give it our full attention…something difficult for this caliber of game. | | Be the first to comment on this article |
