[PC] [Review]

Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War: Dark Crusade is actually called an expansion pack. But it is a full stand-alone game. As I was just checking out the demo I don't know if it will install as an add-on to an existing Dawn of War installation or if it will want to reside in its own location on the drive. At only 395MB installed I was quite surprised to find a nice intro film as well as some short cut scenes in the demo. I feel that was time they should have spent polishing up the game play and not making short films. But what it should be called was a big waste of time. It is beyond difficult I must say. The third try was the charm to crush the AI on the first level (20 minutes of play where 7 minutes was simply holding strategic points.) You need to build and build quickly while continuing to run your units all over the board to take control of the strategic points. To keep the points you need to station units there or build a listening post with a turret on top.

[PC] [Review]

This is a NO SPOILER review of the new SafeCracker: Unleashed from TheAdventure Company.

Video:

Safecracker contains some richly drawn static backgrounds typical of the Adventure company games. But there is little variation in them and the developers appear to have focused on the puzzles instead of the approach. I hoped.

Navigation
The game really needed a quick travel feature because continually traveling through the same locations across the house and back is tiring and cumbersome. This is I think the biggest drawback to the whole game is the manual movement through rooms that you have already completed to get a piece from one safe and then go back to another safe to use.

My first post! Oh the fond memories

The End: I now have about 120 hours of gameplay and thought into Morrowind Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion I can sum it up in just a few words. "What's the point?" My character is currently the Guildmaster of the Thieves, Assassin, Mage and Fighters Guilds and I can't do anything with it. Sure I get a little money from the Fighters and Assassins. But, by far the Mage's guild is the most useless of the bunch. You don't get squat essentially. You can't guide the guild in any way. Yes, you can have an apprentice or an assassin run around after you and flick spells at or sneak attack bad guys. Yes you can easily get a few potion components from what I term 'the useless magic box' in the archmage's quarters. LAME!
