What do you get when you take the Warthog from Halo and add a pile of grenades? Warthog Launch!
One bang up game! The object is simple. Place the grenades so that the Warthog is flung around the screen to eliminate the enemies. Sound easy? Sure it is. Cigdangle and I had a competition and we reached something around level 30 or so. It's easy at times, frustrating at other times but in the long run it’s oddly satisfying.
Your options include three slider bars for Warthog position, number of grenades and placement beneath the Warthog. All you need to do is find the right combination to destroy the floating enemies. That’s it, nothing more. I told you it was simple and it is.
There's no music in the game and I don't really think it's necessary. The graphics aren't awe-inspiring and the sounds are just explosions and crashes. So overall there's not much to say about the game in general.
This may possibly be the shortest FGoW I ever write. It's a simple game and it's fun and somewhat addictive. I go back every week to let loose the Warthogs of Hell on occasion. It’s fun to just watch it slam into and carom off the walls flying end-over-end. It’s so simple you can even make your own game out of it if you have friends over like who can land it on it’s wheels…
If the game ever gets an update I would hope it would be in the GFX department because it is sort of plain. Maybe different backgrounds and frames as you progress through the levels or something.
So pull the pins and let your Warthog FLY!
Score: 75% (It's cool, it's fun, it will take up hours of your time...but it needs some new graphics and maybe some music.)
