[PC] [Review]

The people at Globz.com make some good games. Several of which I manage to find time to play each week. Here are a few of my favorite puzzle games from them.

Mozaik - Spin the blocks to match the pattern shown. Sound easy enough? Well add in the fact that you have a limited number of moves and eventually the game is somewhat challenging. After breezing through the first several levels of the game I found myself slowing down and needing to think through the logical progression of movements. It's got 15 levels of thought-provoking fun with no sound in the game. Perfect for those covert slack-off times at work.

Twin Spin III - As its name suggests it is the third in a series of puzzle games. The object of the game is to move the two tethered globs around the board and collect all the blue dots. Basically you walk them by clicking on them. In this version there are some added bonuses like propulsion units and moving sections of the background that make the game a bit more interesting. Each level has a time limit so get your in gear and get moving. Again no sound so easy to hide from the boss and your co-workers.

Rotobo - Guide your head spinning, jet equipped robot through the maze to get the ore cube. But be wary of the lava because this robot is not melt-proof! It's another simple but fun game and will quickly eat your lunch hour if you aren't careful.

If you are looking for more of a challenge then click the small picture next to the "enter the site" link for some head-to-head challenges like Globulos, Trackwars and others. The site hosts tournaments and other events and seems to continually be working on new games. There's no need to register to play any of the games but if you want to take part in a tournament you will need to sign up for an account. You can only play for free as a registered member for two weeks then your account will be deleted. The subscription rates aren't outrageous considering you can have access for a whole year for just 20 Euros (about $25 USD or 566 CZK).

All of the games on the site are small and load fairly quick. The game screens are small being only slightly larger than a standard Nintendo DS screen and the graphics are about the level of the Gameboy Advance. But that's what makes these games load quick and easy to play. The site is definitely worth a visit when you have some time during commercials, while waiting for the boss to figure out how to tell you to come in on Saturday or just waiting for your next meeting with the Bobs.

Score: 90% (overall many of the games are fun but the screens could be a little larger. no sound.)
