21 February 2008 - News "Intern"

Generation: Gamerz, LLC. is looking for a news 'intern' to read, editorialize and post gaming news articles. Access will be given to daily press releases and assets to be uploaded to the site. Writing credit will be given and probably some free games, because that's about all we have to offer right now. I know it doesn't sound like much, but we have all kinds of gaming gear we could give you and you get a coveted spot on the Generation: Gamerz Gift List which means we'll send you gifts on occasion. OK so I just made the Gift List up but we did send Christmas Gifts to the staff so it's not totally fictional.

Responsibilities:

  • Read gaming news press releases.
  • Reword, cut, edit press releases into short articles to make them easier to read and more interesting.
  • Post the short articles to Generation: Gamerz.
  • Post images and assets to the Generation: Gamerz Galleries for inclusion in the articles.

Ideally we would like someone who can post several times a day but as it's not really a paying position if you could post one a day we would be happy with that. I guess it's not so much a new intern position as it is a staff writing position but some people really need internships for college or whatever so we'll call it that for now.

This is a perfect opportunity for a high school or college student who wants to pursue journalism and needs some practice honing the craft and getting some writing credits. We are happy to work with any student, school or organization to make sure that proper credit is given as well.

20 Febuary 2008 - Game Reviewer

Generation: Gamerz, LLC is looking for part-time game reviewers. We are beginning to receive more games than we have gamerz and that means we need you.

You qualify if you:

  • are interested in playing a game for several days and producing a 1000 word review,
  • can follow a simple set of guidelines pertaining to style
  • are able to construct informative, entertaining and readable sentences

Other requirements are:

  • either a PC powerful enough to handle some of today's top games or a current generation gaming console or handheld (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS).
  • a need to play games and the time to do it daily.
  • a desire to be part of the Generation: Gamerz Family. We don't pay, but we like to play.

Most of the games we receive at the moment are PC games but we are experiencing growth in all sectors at present and expect more games to come in for consoles and handhelds.

You will not be expected to:

  • Like all the games you review - We want honest opinions.
  • Be 100% grammatically accurate, that is what we have editors for.
  • Attend boring meetings, but there will be deadlines to meet.
  • Travel, we'll get the games to you via FTP or post.
  • Write in English but if you want to write in multiple languages, be our guest. We do have users from around the world.

What you'll receive:

  • Recognition for your work. Look around, we give our writers the credit they deserve.
  • The ability to say "So yeah, I review video games. I know cool huh?"
  • The games to keep and play as much as you like
  • Our eternal gratitude and a spot on the Generation: Gamerz Christmas List
  • We might even be able to get you a press pass for industry events in your area, provided that you're interested in writing and taking photos for us.
  • A spot on the list when we can finally start paying people. No, even CigDangle and I aren't actually paid, but we have played a ton of games in the last two years!

19 February 2008 - Sales Person

Generation: Gamerz, LLC. is looking for a commission-based sales person. This person will be responsible for finding potential clients, offering advertising packages and selling advertising space on Generation: Gamerz and other upcoming projects. The Sales Person will be paid a percentage commission that is open to negotiation at this time. Plus you will be part of a dynamic and fun team and probably get some free video games in the process.

If you are good at selling, want more information or want to be a part of Generation: Gamerz, then contact Business Manager Christophor Rick.
