Here's a Guitar Hero, there's a Guitar Hero, everywhere's a Guitar Hero...
It's no surprise to those that know me that I'm a Guitar Hero fan. And these days, you can find it on almost every platform including now the Nintendo DS and even your mobile phone. But I had yet to find a good substitute to get my guitar hero on while on my computer.
That was until I discovered Beat Up. This game takes the A,S,D,J,K,L and space keys and uses them more like a piano keyboard. There are 8 songs to choose from, each with different speeds and difficulty.
There are two things about this game that I don't like (but it's not enough to stop me from playing). The first is that the messages for your accuracy are right above the oncoming notes, which can block crucial keystrokes that can kill your combo numbers. The other is that on slower moving connections, the delay is enough to make you miss notes, and it will effect the oncoming notes as bad hits.
Other than that, it's a good variation on rhythm games, and the songs are even nice to listen to. Personally, I really enjoy "Baby, Baby".
You're going to need speakers for this game, so if you're playing at work, pull out the headphones before starting.

Untitled snorkle256, Manager Well if you like Guitar Hero then check out the free computer game called Frets on Fire. You can even plug in an Xbox 360 guitar to rock out in style with.
