There are days where I want to just “SMASH!”, “BOOM!”, and break big things into tiny things. Then I want to mash those tiny things into dust, and dance in it as the wind blows it away. Do you have those kind of days? Thought so.
So, this week my search was to find something that involved destruction. In searching the site that CigDangle introduced last week, NewGrounds, I found something right up my alley.
Planet Cruncher is a fun, addictive but eye crossing game where the object is to draw circles around groups of the same planets, causing them to blow up, at which time you must gather their crystal remains. Fun, huh? It starts off easy, but as the levels progress, more types of planets appear along with more planets in general (which means less room to work) and higher crystal gathering goals.
Here's some tips:
- Comets are your friends! Run your mouse over them for bonus crystals.

- Watch the line you're drawing, because if a planet touches it, the
bursts and you can lose your perfect level bonus. If you let go of the
mouse button, the line disappears.
- Circle four or more planets, and get the bonus planet. You can get
more than one bonus planet, but not until the first one is cleared off
the screen.
- Be careful not to circle two different planets. If so, they will
create a black hole and suck up your planets. You can get rid of black
holes by drawing a tight circle around it.
- If you have a single planet of one type left, draw a circle around it (unless there's a bonus planet floating around).
The furthest I got was level 10, but that was because my boss kept
coming to visit me today. We'll see how far I get later when I can
play some more. Like I said, addictive!
And remember, folks - comment below with your favorite online game, and
if I like it, it could appear in an upcoming weekly article!
