First off - thank you Tom for covering for me last week. Wow, life really needs to let me breathe sometimes. Regardless, I'm back, and I have a bit of a story to go along with today's game.
It was bound to happen eventually. One day, I knew that I would have revenge wrought upon me for writing this column and getting people addicted to little online games. This past weekend it was time.
Let's take this down to a personal level. I have a few friends who
like clockwork will check out this page every Wednesday to support me,
and then about 4 hours later send me “hate-IMs” because they are upset
I've gotten them hooked on yet another flash game.
After I posted Kerbix, my friend Emma (and no, I will not
call you Awesomepants) complained about becoming
addicted, and then proceeded to get her revenge.
She shows me this game - QBz. They are cute. They have little tiny
voices and faces. They make hurt faces when they hit one another, and
cry if they end the round unmatched.
Talk about an enjoyable and highly addictive game!
The game style itself is simple. Match up all the connecting QBz of
the same color, trying to clear the board as much and as fast as you
can. You are timed in this, after all. You can start with groups as
small as a pair. Points go up for the larger combos, and you will get a
time and percent cleared bonuses at the end of each round. Careful!
You lose points for clicking on single QBz though.
Now the little shuffle feature is the bonus feature that this game
brings. For each round you have the ability to shuffle the QBz left or
right, or roulette them. You only get three a round, though, so use
wisely.
Each round brings you a larger board, and less time to clean it out.
Clear out a board, you get a special cartoon animation and a perfect
bonus!
Each time I play, I do a little better. Right now I'm breaking the 1
million mark with 1,080,325. I'm pretty sure Miss Emma Awesomepants
can beat that. Can you?
