Alison is under the weather this week, so please bare, or preferably bear with me as I attempt to fill in.

Looking for a game this week proved a little easier than I initially imagined.  I stumbled on to NewGrounds.com; this site has a slew of good-looking, fun-to-play flash games.  But the game that really caught my eye, and my interest, was Stunt Pilot.

The gameplay is fairly simple: fly through the rings without crashing into the terrain or floating object to complete each level. The controls are equally simple; there only three to learn: the up and down keys control the direction of the plane, and the spacebar is a boost.  A nice added touch is the ability to invert the up/down controls.

There are bonuses awarded for flying through multiploe rings without crashing, holding boost while flying through a ring, and for finishing a level quickly.

Stunt Pilot also offers bonus levels at regular intervals throughout the game.  In these levels, the object is to pop as many balloons as possible by flying into them.  Their isn't a lot of variety here, but the little changes that appear as the levels progress of additive, and can make from some tricky flying.  If you do crash one too many times, the game will end, but does include a "Continue" feature.  As I died a third time in the thirteenth level, I felt particularly thankful for its existance.

The game is not the most exciting flash game I've ever played, but it was a fun to pass the time, and didn't involve any button-mashing that may attract unwanted attention to your cubicle.

I'm stuck on level 17, but I'm not giving up yet!
