Here is a game that is going to have your hand in a splint in about 30 minutes. If it doesn’t, it may just teach you to be ambidextrous is a matter of minutes.
Ball Revamped
is a game of skill and timing. The ball is in a free-fall or in a
“free-rise” (anti-gravity free-fall away from the source of gravity),
and it's up to you to use the arrow keys to keep it from touching
anything. That includes walls, barriers, lasers, and even coconuts, in
order to get it to the warp hole to the next level.
But be careful. Hit the keys too long, and the ball will move too fast
and you'll lose control. As you progress through the levels and the
boards get more complex, you're going to find your hand starting to
cramp up as you try to just keep the ball in the air, let alone
navigate the mazes.
Thankfully, you get an unlimited number of lives, which is good because there is no pause function that I can find. So you can let the ball drop a few hundred times while you stretch out the digits before trying again.
Here are a few pointers:
- Barriers opened by buttons do not stay open forever. Experiment by timing them timing before trying to pass.
- If there are two warp points, hover the ball over them so that you learn which one is the wrong one. That way you don't have to lose a life, especially if they are right next to each other.
- Try to use the up arrow with your non-dominant hand, and use the left and right arrow with your dominant. It'll take you awhile to get used to doing it, but it will help with the cramping and even improving your timing.
- Don't forget the down arrow (or up arrow past level 50). When you need to make a quick downward movement, it'll get you there. But it's hard to recover a hover after using it, so use it with caution!
I got to level 23 before my hand locked up on me. Level 19 is hard, so stretch your hands out before you start it.
Oh, and thank you Jessie for the suggestion for this great game!
