Well, this is it folks. If you don't get shopping soon, you are totally screwed. As is, items will be difficult to find, and few vendors offer overnight shipping on weekends, but some do, and I would suggest watching for last minute ads. Or, buy it now, and give them a picture of the forthcoming item!

Nintendo Wii Yes folks, I have decided. I want a Nintendo Wii. After comparing the two systems released this year and not really being excited by last year's Xbox offering, I feel the Nintendo Wii will give me the most joy. Call it distaste of Sony Fanboys, or not wanting to pay more money to "The Man", I just don't need another media center right now. I also like the design of the Nintendo controllers that is the closest to the virtual reality the consumer has right now. Plus, the chance to play all the old NES games appeals greatly to me. Now they just need to re-release Duck Hunt!

Gamez N Flix Gift Certificate I usually consider gift certificates a last resort gift, as they show little creativity (IMHO). But, today is

December 22nd, and gift certificates are more creative than cash.

I have recently become a Gamez N Flix member, and have been pleased. Unlike similar companies that offer a games-by-mail rental service, Gamez N Flix is far cheaper, and offers a variety of game and movie formats in one plan. For $8.99/month you can rent one item at a time, as many times as you like within a month. (They also offer other plans, allowing you to rent more items at a time, for a bit more.) In addition, they offer far more formats than any other company I have seen, including: DVD, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, and UMD movies; Xbox 360, Xbox, PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, GameCube and Wii games.

You can buy that special loved one a gift certificate that is sent directly to their email: perfect for the last minute shopper.

SuperGuido's Pick

AlienWare Area-51 7500If you don't know AlienWare then you don't know cool. Sure their stuff is a little overpriced, but that's the price we pay to be uber-cool...and this unit is the UBEREST. Ok maybe it's not a word but I don't care because this PC makes me seep bodily fluids... Looking like something that will take control of your city when you're not looking is just the tip of this iceberg for the Area-51 7500. If you fear it on sight alone then you are more sane than you know. This behemoth boasts up to a Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 2.66GHz with 8MB Cache and a 1066MHz FSB. Not enough to make you shake? Then add on the 4GB DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz, 750GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7,200 RPM w/ 16MB Cache Drive. Don't forget the 'additional storage' option of 1.5TB (2 x 750GB) Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7,200 RPM w/ 32MB Cache for a grand total of 2.25TB of storage. Then you must have the dual 768MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTXs and you should be turning into a quivering mass of gelatinous goo about now. The thing is so massive it requires a 1000W power supply! With all that processing and graphics power you definitely need the largest computer gaming screen you can get with the Dell 30" 2560 x 1600 UltraSharp Widescreen Flat Panel /w HDCP. Top it all off with 7.1 Surround, some fancy doo-dads like Laser Gaming Mouse and Gaming Keyboard and I think it is just about ready...to break the bank! I would have to work for a year to afford the $10,276 (After a $600 instant rebate!)price tag on the unit but it might be well worth it when I immerse myself into full weekends of gaming glory.

Yes, it's far beyond the dreams of many, but it had to be done. I opted for Saucer Silver, but Space Black is quite nice also. Then I was torn between the Astral Blue, Terra Green or Plasma Purple Cooling and lighting effects. No matter, I can't afford it anyway.
