Xbox 360 owners will immediately recognize the object at left: the infamous Xbox 360 Power "Brick". More specifically, it is the source of my 360 problem. After performing this procedure, which I previously alluded to, I received error code 0001, indicating a power supply problem.
Luckily, my cousin (who is also my co-worker) owns a 360. He brought in his power supply for me to test on my 360 unit. Sure enough, simply using his power supply corrected the problem, and the system fired up perfectly. So, I decided to call Microsoft back, now that I knew the problem. Surprisingly, Microsoft DOES sell 360 power supplies, AND for less than I expected. $79.95, which includes shipping. Ridiculous it failed, yes, but not too bad, especially since I expected to pay at least $120.
