I've read a few articles similar to this, so I decided to compile a comprehensive list myself. There has been a slew of complaints and a lot of grumbling since the annoucement of the cost of the PlayStation 3. Realistically speaking, its not all that expensive. Don't believe it? Check out the chart below.

This chart compares the cost of video game consoles at their release (1972 to 2006) to the cost in 2006 U.S. dollars, as adjusted for inflation.

All 2006 dollars were calculated using information from the U.S. Department of Labor - Bureau of Labor Statistics.

So, kids, be sure to show this one to your parents this Christmas season!
