Less that one week until Christmas morning, so I suggest you get moving on your shopping. If my aunt is reading this, I mean people like you! The days of shopping on December 24th are over; get to the store now!
That being said, here is part 2 of our Last Minute Shopping Guide to help you buy for the gamer(s) on your list.
Xbox 360 Pro Value Bundle
FamerDave's Pick
The Xbox 360 has the most game titles available and it is compatible with all the titles I own for the original Xbox, plus I would have the ability to finally play “Halo 3”.
It could spark a gaming renewal at my house, and just think of all the shopping that I could do post-Christmas for games and peripherals to go with my new console!
Please Santa! I need a new console!
Xbox 360 Text Input Device
CigDangle's Pick
When I first saw this accessory, I thought, "Why would I ever need this?"
I am a Windows Live Messenger junkie; if I am on my computer, you can bet I'll be logged into it. Normally, when playing a game on my Xbox 360, I have my laptop next to me. But on occasion, I don't and I am logged in via my Xbox 360.
Normally, I would have to struggle through typing via the on-screen keyboard, or take the time to plug in my USB keyboard.
With this handy little device, I can pause the game, type my message, and go about my business.
Classic Amiga Games
TurboGoat's Pick
In taking a cue from Farmer Dave, I want to shop at the Amiga online shop for some Classic Amiga games. The early days of personal computing brought many different platforms and gaming formats. The platforms are consolidated now with the gamer owning a PC, Mac, or gaming console.
Thanks to individual download marketing pioneered by the music industry you can sustain your childhood memories without having to sustain a major cache of museum-worthy computer equipment.
I am excited about the current fifteen classic games offered by Amiga, and I can't wait until they offer Test Drive and Rocket Ranger.
Voltron - Defender of the Universe - Collection One: Blue Lion
TheGirl's Pick
While we talk about Saturday Morning cartoons and such, this is MY favorite, and it’s available on DVD. Four volumes. In spiffy tin cases.
Long before the Power Rangers, there was Voltron, Defender of the Universe. I remember having the old metal lions "Made in China" with no care about whatever paint was on it. I wish I still had them. They go for a fortune now.
And yes, I saw that they are making a Voltron movie. And I read the plot summary. Then I sat down and cried in mourning for the destruction of my childhood.
