[OpEd]

I like some realism in my gaming experience but not at the cost of fun and visibility. From the looks of things Activision is seriously attempting to drown Guitar Hero III in piles and piles of logos this time around. They have created more strategic alliances than both World Wars combined and now stand to blot out the actual game.

Here is an exceprt from the latest Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock press release to show up in my inbox:

Delivering the most authentic rock experience to date, Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will feature some of the world’s most influential musical instrument and equipment manufacturers including Gibson, Guitar Center Audio-Technica, Crate, Ernie Ball, Krank, Line 6, Mackie and Zildjian.  Alternative Press, Decibel, Guitar Player, Kerrang and Paste magazines also make appearances giving Guitar Hero legends the chance to see their names in the headlines. In addition to partnering with some of the most prominent names in music, Activision has forged key strategic alliances with companies such as Pontiac and Axe whose product appears in the game..

So I thought I would make an image of what you can expect the game to look like. Have a look below. It's not such a pretty site now is it?

Click it for the full effect and full-size.

Now that is realistic my friends.
