[News] [MOB]

I have gathered together all the mobile releases I could find for the last week and put them here for you. If you know of something that was released and is not on the list please feel free to contact us for inclusion.

Astraware

I think they have forgotten which platform they develop for.

Astraware Boardgames offers 3 levels of gameplay that everyone can enjoy, even complete beginners. If you're new to board games, you can play a nice easy game to begin with and when you're winning those regularly, select a harder difficulty.

The game features plenty of options so that you can choose to play it your way - against the computer, or alongside other players, and with your choice of rules, so whether you like huffing in checkers, flying in nine men's morris, want more ladders or less snakes, Astraware Boardgames lets you play it your way!

The gameplay and graphics are designed to evoke the feel of classic board games, played on wooden boards, with traditional playing pieces and satisfying piece movement. Astraware Boardgames includes Chess, Backgammon, Ludo, Checkers, Reversi, Nine Men's Morris, Snakes and Ladders, and Tic Tac Toe.

Astraware Boardgames is compatible with Symbian S60 3rd Edition devices including the Nokia N95 and E61, and with UIQ 3 devices including the Sony Ericsson P1i and Motorola RIZR Z8. The game includes support for English, Spanish, German and Portuguese languages and is available from Astraware.com priced $19.95.

$20 for a mobile game? Are they out of their minds?

The Total Film Quiz will offer film lovers thousands of unique questions, with multiple choice answers, about hundreds of films from a variety of genres – all in Total Film's unique and irreverent style. Players can choose between two modes, Total Film Buff mode where they earn points for each correct answer or, for the truly knowledgeable, Survival Mode where players receive a battery of questions until they give an incorrect answer.

  Micazook

i-Citizen is the worlds first 3D avatar world for mobile handsets that is designed to work across 3G and 2.5G handsets and networks. Its initial release on mobiles will be shortly followed by a more comprehensive PC version at the end of Q2 2008.

Micazook’s three year development cycle in building such a massive multiplayer platform on mobiles is perhaps the most ambitious mobile application seen to date.

i-Citizen’s ability to introduce a totally different experience in social networking bring a radical change to the current trends seen on web based systems. Members get to choose from a multitude of cities such as London, Barcelona or New York and they can meet and make new friends.

Cities are dynamic and can be downloaded to the user’s handsets as and when they decide to visit the particular city. Members are encouraged to setup their profiles and meet new people. There are a multitude of shops inside each city such as Hotels, Games or Cinemas where members can wonder and sample freeware or purchase items if they wish.

i-Citizen also offers in-game experiences where members can play and enjoy themselves. The application is free to download and use but a subscription is needed to unlock certain aspects of i-Citizen. Members can visit and download i-Citizen on their mobile handsets from http://wap.icitizencommunity.com.
