So Stypica is engrossed in rea-life affairs that have kept him from the Grind. So I am turning the crank. Get to aggro'in mobs you newbs before I just PVP all your butts or something.
(This is version 2. Version 1 was far cooler and lost to the Internet gods)
I'm not currently engaged in an MMORPG. I am beta-testing The Witcher Duel Mail, but don't get me started on that blasted thing! Besides, it's not MMORPG. But this stuff is.
Marvel at the wonders of cross-over platform MMORPGing...I think.
Aeria Games has just acquired its seventh title called StoneAge2, a
casual Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) created by
DigiPark Inc. for release in North America.
Set in the
prehistoric ages, StoneAge2 brings a mixture of dinosaurs of
unimaginable heights and invisible spirits who help humans roam altered
terrains such as dungeons and arid desserts.
Arid desserts? You mean like dried up bundt cake? Oh they mean deserts. Well you know if dinosaurs and humans are co-existing in the game (which never happened in reality people!) why not have some invisible helper spirits and some arid desserts...I mean deserts.
With the power of
the spirits, users can learn current weather, predict danger and summon
powerful dinosaurs. The dinosaurs are creatures that can be raised as
pets by the users to help with the journey that lies ahead in StoneAge2.
"StoneAge2
has some great features that none of our other games can boast," said
Susan Revelt, producer at Aeria Games. "SA2 is centered on a pet system
where players can have up to 5 pets."
These pets all live with
the user in a "den" that users can decorate, but the pets may dislike
their living situation with the user, even throwing out the user's
belongings if not kept happy.
"The Den keeps a video diary of all
activity that the user can access while offline or use to post
screenshots or short movies in blog or on a forum," Revelt said.
Along
with an enhanced pet system comes a revolutionary way for users to
interact with their pets such as a fixed camera to allow users to get
in-game info from a Web site even when they are not connected to the
game itself. Pets can also keep in contact with the users through
Internet-capable mobile phones and other media features that DigiPark
wants to incorporate into online gaming.
Wow, I can watch my pets piss on the carpet while I'm say at work and can't log into the game? Now Grannie will finally know who ate Tweety!
The StoneAge franchise to date has over 11 million registered users and has generated over $260 million dollars over six years.
Meanwhile the German barons of the high seas are staking claim to Davey Jones' locker and prying it open to give you the booty.
German publisher Frogster Interactive has just launched a free2play
Bounty Bay Online server. This new alternative to the existing
subscription based server will allow players to join the nautical MMOG
free of charge.
Did I ever mention these are the guys that invited me to interview and liked me and wanted me to work with them but then said 'we don't have the budget...' So apparently to get the budget they are giving the game away for free!
The
new free2play server called “Mary Read” features an integrated online
shop where players can buy precious ingame items such as potions,
figureheads, treasure maps or level boosts. Depending on their value,
the price of these items range from 3 cents upwards. The new server
model for Bounty Bay Online allows players with limited playing time to
achieve more - in less time. Frogster has thoroughly revamped the
website to better serve the players. The website has been restructured
to be more clear and easier to navigate and now includes new features
such the new items shop.
The new free2play server will not
affect the established subscription server. All current subscribers
will be able to access Bounty Bay Online the way they are used to.
3 cents! That brings a whole new meaning to 'micro-transaction' now doesn't it. Well don't pay for anything that you can get for free. But be careful of your budgetary needs for them new rhinestone encrusted peg legs and eye patches. You better get to plunderin' some booty mateys!
Like I said, don't bother to pay. Hell, don't even bother to download a client!
